I’m pretty new to the subject of media ecology. Or at least I was when I started this back in February of 2011.
I read “Amusing Ourselves to Death” and couldn’t seem to get some of Postman’s logic out of my head. I chased it with Nicholas Carr’s “The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to our Brains”, and I refer to it frequently here. That’s when I started reviewing relevant books chapter by chapter.
Please take my opinions with a grain of salt; I’m young and admittedly naive about certain aspects of the world and of culture. I don’t mean to come off as a cynic, but occasionally I can’t help it!
Thanks for checking out my blog. Please share your knowledge, opinions and thoughts–I’m all ears:)
A little bit about me, if you’re curious.
My name is Abby Bartholomew. I like reading, the outdoors, traveling, crafts, learning… and other nerdy things–such as my persistent obsession with all things Whedon. I have a papercrafts business, and I’m coauthoring a book series. For my day job, I’m a Senior Project Manager in Kenexa Employment Branding at IBM.
Oh, and I have a husky who keeps me busy. He also happens to be adorable. See below for said adorableness.
